The City of Greenville is excited to announce the 6th annual Central Business District window decorating contest in downtown Greenville known as Window Wonderland. Please join your fellow merchants and participate in the 2023 Window Wonderland competition, which transforms Main Street into a holiday wonderland for residents and visitors to enjoy.  This incredible opportunity serves as an outlet for each merchant to showcase their unique personalities, all while creating a holiday destination along Main Street.

• In an effort to illuminate Main Street, all entries are encouraged to have a lighting element. We ask that all light features be illuminated at least during the hours of 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
• Windows are encouraged to include elements of color, movement and products and/or services to enhance the overall appearance of the decorations.
• Entry is free, with no cost or fees to apply.
• Participation is open to all businesses located within the Central Business District. 
• All window decorations must comply with the City of Greenville’s sign ordinance. In addition, windows must respect Greenville unique and diverse audience. Windows will be rejected that:
  1. Contains materials or designs that promotes, fosters or perpetuates harassment or discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, age, religion, gender or national origin (Please note: this does not include use of holiday motifs, including nativity scenes, crosses, menorahs, etc.)
  2. Contains profane, obscene or violent material
  3. Contains offensive or defamatory verbiage within the design
  4. Contains any design elements that infringe on the intellectual property rights of a 3^rd party
  5. Contains design elements in support of, or in opposition to, any political campaigns or ballot measures

• Wednesday, November 8: Applications are available live via FormStack
• Wednesday, November 29 by 5:00 pm: Competing windows must be completed, applications are due and a photo of your window must be submitted
• Friday, December 1 - Monday, December 18: Judging panel time frame
• Friday, December 1 - Monday, December 18: People’s Choice voting time frame
• Tuesday, December 19: Winner’s will be notified and announced

Panel of Judges

• Windows will be judged based on presentation, use of lighting, relevance to the holiday theme and originality. 
• Judging will be based on “curb appeal” for exterior facing windows.
• Judging will take place randomly throughout the judging period, so please have windows in judging condition through 10 p.m.

People's Choice

• Photos submitted by applicants will be uploaded to the City of Greenville's website.
• Specific judging details will be released prior to the opening day of the window displays.
